Approach to Caring for Adults with Disabilities
Spruce Point is committed to providing adults with autism, Asperger’s Syndrome and other developmental delays leading edge, supportive living services. Our approach is grounded in evidence-based practice with importance on the role of consumer choice.
Grounded in Evidence-Based Practices
Evidence-based practice represents an integration of clinical experience, the best available research, and consumer preferences and needs. These practices, sometimes called therapies, are reviewed and analyzed from outcome research that specifically addresses adult life practices. At Spruce Point Maine evidence-based practice also address residential living supports for adults with autism, Asperger’s Syndrome and other developmental delays.
Our service delivery begins with getting to know our residents before they arrive. The Spruce Point Application for Services provides our team of experts the information they need to prepare a service plan recommendation based on the residents preferences and needs. The residential living plan is carefully reviewed with the family and their adult child. Spruce Point then prepares staff and creates living spaces that support residents to live full lives, engage in their community, and realize their individual potential.
Each resident receives a plan tailored to them. Each plan includes environments and activities that engage and stimulates regardless of physical or developmental capabilities. Each resident is encouraged to participate in activities that are matched to their own individual capabilities.
Spruce Point will also work in partnership with families, programs, and other community resources that are committed to creating opportunities for improving our residents’ quality of life and integration into their community.
